I don’t usually share personal messages people send me in response to a blog or video I post, but what my friend Joe wrote is so good I had to share it. I pray it will bless all who read it. May we all become Jehosophats!
Wow! You hit at the heart of the matter as to what to do when trouble comes our way!! Jehoshaphat is a great example. He wasn’t like Gideon who asked for proof…. he was the opposite of Saul.
Jehoshaphat was certainly one of the ‘Good Kings’. By humbling himself face down, I believe like Paul, he understood the wretchedness of his own heart…. yet by God’s power, he didn’t remain there in the dirt and lies of Satan in shame and humiliation! No Sir! He believed God, got up off the ground and into the battle of which he was called to wage …. not in the flesh for he gave the battle to the Lord. This wasn’t his own personal journey. No indeed. He demonstrated his faith before the Lord by also being a leader amongst his people to go also. Jehoshaphat not only went into battle, but he put himself in the middle of his people. He didn’t cower to criticism because he didn’t make this event about him! Jehoshaphat really got it … he made it about…. God’s Glory ! He believed God and made it all about the Father ! As King, he set the example of what it meant to fall under His Lordship! Wow! The King submits to the Lord, King Jesus.
As your pastor stopped the service, how wise he was when he saw it was time to really ‘get real’ and praise Him from the heart…. not from religious tradition. Like Jehoshaphat, your pastor became a true shepherd. He took a gamble and chose to lead his flock in the truth into battle.
As we’ve discussed before …. this is the stuff of revival!! It’s out of brokenness before the Lord that He is faithful to make us mighty Sons and Daughters of our Living God.
Amen and Amen!!! I totally agree with Joe. Let’s fight this battle on our knees and in worship!
May you be abundantly blessed!
