I Will Wait

It’s been a while, but I am finally back on social media. In my last blog, I mentioned that I was heading out of town again to help a friend in Texas. Fortunately, that trip was smooth sailing. The past few months I have been in another state helping a family member clean and fix up their house. In a few week’s I will be returning to Virginia for another month, but after that, I don’t have a clue as to where I will be going. Looks like I am once again in a waiting season. Maybe you can relate.

Last week as I was packing some of my belongings, a new song began to stir in my spirit. It’s started as a declaration of faith, but soon became a realization of God’s goodness. I recorded it on my phone, but today I felt God wanted me to share it. So here are the lyrics. I pray it will bless.

I Will Wait

It seems I’ve been down this road before.

The sights are new but this ground, Oh yes, yes, I’m sure.

There’s been so many twists and turns behind.

I see a new fork coming, but I’m scared…so scared cuz I’m blind.

But, Lord, because I know your love is true,

I will trust your heart for me, and I will wait on you.

I will wait.

I will wait.

Yes, I’ll wait on you, Lord.

You know the timing for me.

I will wait.

I will wait.

Yes, I’ll wait on you Lord,

Trusting you can see what I can’t see.

When all of my plans are falling apart,

And I don’t know what to do.

I will put my trust in you,

And I will wait on you.

You say for me to trust you at your Word.

But confusions got me doubting, cuz everything looks so absurd.

Voices shout “return from where you’ve come!”

But there’s a new dawning when with you I choose to run.

Oh Lord, because I know your love is true,

I will trust your heart for me, and I will wait on you.

I will wait.

I will wait.

Yes, I’ll wait on you, Lord.

You know the timing for me.

I will wait.

I will wait.

Yes, I’ll wait on you Lord,

Trusting you can see what I can’t see.

When all of my plans are falling apart,

And I don’t know what to do.

I will put my trust in you,

And I will wait on you.

I hear the crowd mocking as I stand.

But in full surrender, I choose to lift my hands,

Knowing that you’ll draw me close and sing

A new song of freedom as I rise on eagle’s wings!

Yes, Lord, because your love is true,

I will trust your heart for me, and I will wait on you.

I will wait.

I will wait.

Yes, I’ll wait on you, Lord.

You know the timing for me.

I will wait.

I will wait.

Yes, I’ll wait on you, Lord,

Trusting you can see what I can’t see.

When all of my plans are falling apart,

And I don’t know what to do.

I will put my trust in you,

And I will wait on you.

I’ll wait as long as you want me to.

Trusting your heart I’ll wait with you.

I’ll wait as long as you want me to.

Rising on eagle’s wing I’ll fly with you

As we wait.

Yes, I’ll wait with you.
