Heart’s Desires

I was a little apprehensive about sharing this, because I am still seeking more understanding. But this morning as I was praying I felt to go ahead. I pray that it will bless somebody.

Yesterday, while I was praying, I saw a vision. Most of the time when God speaks to me through visions I see a picture and hear an explanation in my mind, but yesterday was one of those rare times I felt as if I were watching an video.

In my vision I saw angels standing in line in heaven. They were eagerly awaiting their assignments. Many were warriors, but there were also a lot of messenger angels. As each angel stepped to the front of the line, he was given a piece of paper with specific instructions and told to “GO NOW!” The line was moving very quickly so I continuously heard, “GO NOW! GO NOW! GO NOW!…”

As the warrior angels were dispatched, I saw human warriors being equipped and raised up on the earth. The warrior angels were sent to strategic places around the globe for such a time as this.

Some of the messenger angels were given boxes with their orders. Others were given shovels.

The angels who left with boxes had two different types of assignments. Some had been instructed to deliver their boxes at this time, while the others had been instructed to hide their boxes until an appointed time. The boxes that were to be hidden were labeled HIDDEN DESIRES. They would be easily found in unexpected places at just the right time. The angels with the shovels were sent to dig up boxes that had been buried for a long time.

I saw the word HOPE

Many people, including me, were given AT THIS TIME boxes. I opened mine as soon as I received it. Hearts, birds, and candy floated up out of the box, along with the words HEARTS DESIRES. I was overjoyed!

Immediately, a towering wall sprung up out of nowhere right in front of me. It was so high I knew that it would be impossible to scale. I heard the words. “WHAT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR MAN IS POSSIBLE FOR GOD!”

The angel then lifted me up and flew with me to the top of the wall.  As I looked down from my new position, I could see the past, the present, and the future, and I was given new understanding about some of the more difficult seasons of my life. There was no fear, pain, discouragement, or disappointment-only peace.

Looking down from the wall I could see the angels with the shovels digging up the boxes that had been buried for a long time. There was a marker at each place where a box had been buried. The markers read HOPE DEFERRED.

Whenever someone received one of the boxes that had been buried, they were immediately lifted to the top of the wall and placed next to me. I was also given a box that had been buried. As each one of us opened our boxes, the words HEART’S DESIRES, as well as hearts, birds, and candy once again floated up out of the boxes. But this time a second set of words also floated into the air –HOPE RESTORED. The HOPE RESTORED words began to get larger and larger, until they permeated the atmosphere.

Everybody on the wall received insight about past suffering and gained new understanding about God’s love. Most were given wisdom about how to proceed with God-given dreams they had given up on years ago. Many of the people on the wall had also been given AT THIS TIME boxes with new heart’s desires. Some would be writing songs and books. Others would be starting ministries or businesses. Some would be entering new relationships.

I could feel my heart expanding in my chest. I knew I was receiving more healing. As I looked around at the other RESTORED ONES delighting in the contents of their boxes, God showed me their hearts. Broken hearts began to mend, bitter hearts were filled with joy, and stony hearts turned to flesh. Everybody’s heart, including mine, was bursting with thankfulness. I heard the Lord say, “I am restoring the hearts of my people and gifting them with new understanding!”

May the Lord abundantly bless you!

Intercession

One of the ways that God speaks to us is through intercession. When I began interceding at twenty-five years of age, I didn’t know there was a word for what I was doing. I just knew that my heart would become deeply burdened for people, and God would tell me or show me what to pray for them.

The word intercede comes from two latin words inter and ced,  which, when combined means go between. It’s simply standing in the gap for others through prayer.

When I began to intercede, it was for some difficult neighbors. Since they had dealt drugs and were bringing a lot of chaos to our apartment complex, I had prayed for God to move them, but instead, He moved on my heart.

Quick prayers turned into hours of praying, many times until the early morning. As the Lord showed me their wounds and had me pray for salvation and healing and to break bondages in their lives, I, sometimes, could even feel their pain. In turning my prayers, God turned my heart, and I truly learned to love my enemies.

Intercession doesn’t always have to be long. Many times, God has stirred me to drop whatever I was doing and pray short intense 911 kinds of prayers. By the end of the day, I would usually hear how God had rescued or protected the person for which He had me pray.

I believe that all Christians should be intercessors. The Bible says that we are to bear one another’s burdens. I believe that means in prayer, as well as in fellowship and in supplying needs.

I mentioned in one of the stories in my book,  Aha! about a time when my mother interceded for me when I was in danger. It wasn’t about what Mom knew, it was all about whom she knew. Mom was so connected to the Lord, she seemed to always be on call.

I’ll never forget one time when I was visiting her in the 1980’s. Mom walked into the room holding a piece of paper on which she had written a long Russian name. She told me that she didn’t know who the person was, but she had prayed for him all day. That night, there was a news report about a man who had just defected from Russia. His name was the name on her paper.

God knows names, hearts, and circumstances. When we intercede for others, we get a glimpse of His heart and His understanding. What a priveledge to yolk with Him prayer!

I have to admit, I haven’t interceded for hours in a while, but the other day, an e-mail I received from a broken person stirred my heart so much that I cried as I prayed.  My heart is still burdened for them and for others going through similar struggles.

Intercession connects us with the heart of Father God. If you ever want more understanding about Father God’s heart, pray for others. Ask the Lord what to pray. Ask Him for revelation. Ask Him to let you stand in the gap and bear another’s burdens. The scriptures say to ask and you will receive. If you ask for wisdom about how to pray, I guarantee, you will receive more than you can think or imagine.

May you be abundantly blessed!

Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (NIV).

James 5:16 “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (NKJV).

An Unusual Blessing

When I was walking to see the Air Show on Saturday, the Lord surprised me with a word about His blessings in the midst of an unusual blessing. Below is the video I recorded.

But first, I will give you a quick update about this website. On Monday I wrote about some of the obstacles I was facing. Later that day, the Lord started giving me some breakthroughs. The following day I was able to work on the site through Skype with my dear friend, Cindy. She not only made a menu for me, but also helped me set up a few more pages and a subscribe icon.

Apparently, when people signed up to follow my site in the past, it did not connect to email. The glitch has now been fixed. If you signed up to follow my post in the past, you will need to subscribe to it again. Sorry for any inconvienence.

I pray this video will speak to your heart.

May you be abundantly blessed!

Silent Words

Yesterday was the third time I made some short videos to transfer to youtube.  As with the other times, I couldn’t get them to upload. But this time, the camera on my tablet quit working, my phone started acting up, and I got locked out of my email account for unusual usage from opening a few devices simultaneously.

Late last night, as I was searching for answers to fix my mess, the Lord told me to shut everything down and go to bed. So I gave it all to Him. “Lord, you can do all things,” I reminded Him. “If you want this stuff to work, then you will have to fix it!”

The first thing this morning I checked my e-mail. I was still locked out. I wanted to know if all the interference was opposition, redirection, or just a matter of timing, so I went out to the garage where I could be alone.

After I worshiped, prayed, took authority over the plans of the enemy, made agreement with God’s promises in the Word and with His personal promises to me, I still didn’t have any answers. So I called a friend to pray with me about my situation.

While we were praying, God changed the course of our prayers and gave both of us insight about some specific situations in each other’s lives. A simple prayer need, opened the door to a beautiful time of iron sharpens iron fellowship and revelation.

After our call, I checked my email again. It was working!

The way everything came togther this morning, reminded me that obstacles can quickly turn into opportunities. It also reminded me of how God sometimes directs us through His silence. Not hearing an answer from the Lord, led me to the place where He gave insight and answers, not just for me, but for two of His daughters.

A while back, I prayed with a friend who was seeking God’s guidance as to whether she should marry her boyfriend. Although she prayed, fasted, and sought wise counsel, Heaven stayed silent concerning her relationship. When the Lord finally did answer her, it became apparent that she hadn’t heard anything before because it hadn’t been time.

When God doesn’t answer our questions, it’s easy to think that He is withholding from us, but the truth is, that instead of withholding, He is holding our answers until the timing and circumstances come together for us and others to receive His greatest blessings.

So next time when the only answer you hear from the Lord is no answer. Don’t get discouarged. He just might be speaking through silence to lead you to an unexpected blessing.

May the Lord abundantly bless you!

Stories of Gold

One of the ways God speaks to us is by reminding us of a particular story or situation in the Bible.

A few days ago, I received a phone call from a man and his wife who were asking for prayer. This couple was obeying the Lord in a difficult situation, and they were hitting a lot of opposition from their family members. As the man shared about the concerning turn of events, Jehoshaphat came to my mind.

In II Chronicles 20:15-29 we read about an unusual battle. When a vast army came to fight the people of Judah, King Jehoshaphat called all the people to fast and seek the Lord. In answer, God spoke through a prophet. “He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s” 20:15 (NIV.) The prophet then gives specific instructions as to when and where they will find their enemy.

This is where it gets interesting. In verse 17, God promised that they would not have to fight: “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.”

Obviously Jehoshaphat believed the Lord, because instead of sending his strongest warriors into battle first, he sent (get this) the worshipers. They led the army singing, “Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.”

As they sang, God turned the attacking armies against each other. By the time Jehoshaphat and his praising army arrived, all of their enemies were dead.

After sharing the story about Jehoshaphat’s unusual battle plans, I encouraged this precious couple to give their battle to God and just thank Him and worship Him. Last night, I received a phone call from one of the people who had opposed them. This person said that he realized that God was directing the couple. Within two days, God had removed their opposition and they are proceeding with the plan God has given them.

Through the years, I have learned to pay attention to the Bible stories that come to my mind, especially when I am seeking the Lord about a particular situation. Often, those stories of old have been like pure gold to me, as the Lord has spoken volumes through them.

May the Lord abundantly bless you!
